Collection Instructions: Allow specimen to clot for 30 minutes. Spin in centrifuge. If there is a delay in transport of ≥2 hours, send specimen refrigerated.
Note: Serum specimen obtained too early during infection may not contain detectable antibodies. If Helicobacter pylori is suspected and a negative result is obtained, a second serum specimen should be obtained in 2 to 7 weeks.
Note: A positive result only indicates previous infection and does not distinguish between current or past infections.
