Urine, 24-Hour Collection

Submit an entire 24-hour urine collection in a urine container. No preservative. Send specimen refrigerated.

Note: 1. Starting and ending times of collection are required.

2. Follow instructions in Urine Collections in Special Instructions.

Urine, Random Collection

30 mL (minimum volume: 25 mL) from a random urine collection in a plastic urine container. No preservative. Send specimen refrigerated.

Colorimetric, Formazan Dye

6.0-10.0 mEq/24 hours

Specimens collected for other than a 24-hour time period are reported in unit of mg/L, for which reference values are not established.
