Specimen Requirements
- Patient should have 3 days of sexual abstinence at time of
semen collection for accurate results.
- Specimen should be collected directly into a sterile container
provided by the laboratory or physician’s office.
- Specimen container should be clearly labeled with patient name,
date of birth, collection date and time.
- Specimen needs to be delivered to the laboratory for processing
at ambient temperature within 1 hour of collection and testing
performed within 2 hours.
